Super moon coming Saturday night

Super moon coming Saturday night

If the skies clear on Saturday, we could get a glimpse of the “super moon.” The moon will be at its closest to Earth at the time it turns full, making it appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon. According to NASA, the scientific term for the phenomenon is “perigee moon.

This is not at all as rare as a blue moon but there will definitely be a blood red moon this Saturday as the sun’s rays get red shifted by the Earth’s atmosphere to appear large and red in the nights sky.  I’ve always had a deep curiosity for Astronomy as its feats never cease to amaze me.  You can be sure I will be scanning the sky this Saturday for this awesome site and you may want to do the same.   More often then not we are stuck at our computers and rarely get a chance to see one of natures natural phenomenons.  It helps us to understand where we came from to see where we are going.  Take a time out from the internet and see what mother nature has to offer.  Dream again if only for a moment and take yourself off the grid as there is a true spectral you may want to tell you kids about someday.
